Appeal

The running cost of the new youth venue are substantial and so we are appealing for support from Trusts, businesses, local government and the community at large. The appeal is ongoing but in the current year we are looking to raise a minimum of £75,000 from donations, partnerships, events and the like.

Winchester YMCA designated over £300,000 of its reserves to fulfil the vision of a city centre base for young people - our youth empowerment programme. A substantial chunk of this has gone towards capital works, leaving very little for running costs.

New Youth Venue

To give you an idea of how your money could be spent we are providing a ’shopping list’ of items, however this list will evolve as the café becomes established and draws in the local young people. These are approximate figures and only cover some of the necessary expenditure.

Funders should contact us if they would like further details by calling the Chief Executive Mike Simpson on 01962 864234.

Please note: all furniture and equipment must be design-specific, robust and of commercial quality, so offers of donations of used items are not being sought.
